Creating Self Sufficiency Course

Reducing your dependence on outside resources can be a powerful decision. It can not only give you peace of mind but can also make a difference for your wallet too. This class will help anyone interested in growing some of their own food, regardless of prior gardening experience. We will be establishing the foundations for creating self sufficiency in this 6 part series during which we will cover:
- May 14 at 4:00pm: Setting up a growing space including sheet mulching and ideal growing conditions
- May 15 at 4:00pm: Growing annual vegetables for quick production
- May 18 at 6:30pm: Composting for fertility including hot composting and vermicomposting
- May 21 at 4:00pm: Planting perennials for year round production
- May 22 at 4:00pm: Creating systems for less maintenance and higher yields
- May 25 at 6:30pm: Backyard chickens for eggs and meat production
You will be able to attend the live online workshop so that you can ask questions and a post class recording will also be emailed if you cannot make the designated time or would like a review. Each recording will be sent out within 24 hours of the live class. The webinar will be hosted on Zoom – a free webinar platform that can be accessed by phone or computer.
